In Season 4, Episode 8, loyalty is a myth in Raising Kanan, and it came crashing down hard for OC, at least. Unique pulled a move that stunned even long-standing fans of the Power Universe, proving that he’s not only playing the game — he’s also trying to control the board.

After helping to set up a robbery on none other than Kanan Stark himself, Unique showed his hand. OC, who was once Kanan’s friend, cleverly followed him to a storage unit where the young hustler had concealed a significant amount of cash.

The plan was already underway, and Unique was pulling the strings behind the scenes as Kanan unknowingly guided OC to the jackpot. What was it that the OC did not anticipate? Unique was not willing to allow him to walk away clean.

After the job was finished and the money was in their hands, Unique made a calculated decision. OC, full of adrenaline and false confidence, barely had time to process what was happening before Unique bodied him — a classic ‘no loose ends’ play. OC was once again a victim of a city that swallows loyalty and spits out betrayal.

This twist’s brutality is due to the personal nature of the crime. A man Kanan had previously viewed as a rival-turned-mentor has now robbed and indirectly betrayed him, adding to his trust problems.

For Unique, this wasn’t just about money — it was about power, leverage, and a chance to solidify his position. At the same time, Kanan and the Thomas family face growing chaos from every direction.

Unique’s decision to eliminate OC permanently reveals his current state: he’s done playing second fiddle to anyone. It’s not clear if that makes him a genius or just another snake in the grass, but he’s back in the game and playing for the long haul.

As the season nears its end, Kanan’s list of enemies has grown longer, and trust, which was already scarce, is almost gone. The question now is not just about Kanan’s response, but also about who will survive what’s coming next.
