Carmelo Anthony has started hot for the Los Angeles Lakers through their first-eleven games. The 19-year veteran averaged 17.6 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.0 assists, 50 percent from the field, and 52.0 from three per game off the bench. Anthony’s hot start has him as one of the front-runners for Sixth Man of The Year.
Anthony is the best player on the floor when the reserves are in for both teams, and Daniel Artest agrees.

“I think right now, this first ten or eleven game samples, Melo is the Sixth Man of The Year so after. I think a lot of fans and maybe some teams wet the bed with Melo when he was going through his little ordeal everything that was written up about him.”
Artest added, “I think a lot of people have a little bit of regret because obviously with what we have seen, he can still play. “
So Melo is going to continue shooting 50 percent?
“No, didn’t mean he’s going to continue shooting 50 percent, but I think he can stay in the high 40s from three. Playing with LeBron James and AD makes life easier because he has to stand there and catch and shoot. They both draw a lot of attention, and they are willing passers as well. So you never know what will happen, he won’t hit 50 percent, but I can see him shooting 46 or 48 percent. Just because of the personnel that he has around him.”
The Los Angeles Lakers on Monday night beat the Charlotte Hornets 126-123 at home. Anthony Davis led all scorers with 32 points,12 rebounds, and four assists. Anthony was the second-leading scorer with 29 points, three rebounds, and an assist. The Lakers play again at home against the Miami Heat on Wednesday at 10 pm EST.
