Ex-‘Basketball Wives’ Star Tasha Marbury Finally Divorces Stephon Marbury

It’s game over for the turbulent marriage between Basketball Wives star Tasha Marbury and her NBA husband, Stephon, as RadarOnline.com exclusively reports. After quietly hashing out their divorce since 2020, the couple’s divorce was finalized on June 12, 2023, according to court documents filed in New York’s Westchester County Supreme Court. Despite the end of their marriage, Tasha, 47, has expressed that the split is amicable and that both parties are content with their current situation.

In a statement to RadarOnline.com, Tasha stated, “Stephon and I, we are on good terms, so I don’t want to say anything – anything bad. We’re divorced but it’s amicable. We’re happy. We are good where we are.” Although she declined to provide specific details about the settlement, Tasha confirmed that she and Stephon, who is currently serving as a head coach for a basketball team in China, are satisfied with the outcome.

The couple’s relationship faced significant challenges around a decade ago when it was revealed that Stephon had been involved in an extramarital affair with the family’s personal chef, Thurayyah Mitchell. Reports indicated that Stephon had allegedly offered to pay $900,000 in hush money to prevent his wife and the New York Knicks front office from discovering the affair. However, the chef was dismissed in 2006, and in 2010, she filed a sexual harassment complaint when Stephon stopped providing the hush money after paying out $600,000.

According to a 2012 New York Post article, an arbitrator stated, “It is uncontroverted that during Ms. Mitchell’s employment, she had a sexual relationship with Stephon Marbury which she described as occurring on approximately five occasions.” This entire ordeal remained dormant until 2013 when VH1 reality star and Basketball Wives co-star Evelyn Lozado wrote about the messy affair in her book titled Inner Circle.

Lozado’s book not only revealed the details of Stephon’s affair but also shed light on his opposition to Tasha’s decision to become a cast member for the reality show’s fifth season. Unfortunately for Stephon, Tasha had already signed the contract before his objections came to light, further adding strain to their already troubled marriage.

Now, with the divorce officially concluded, Tasha Marbury can move forward with her life and focus on new beginnings. As a former cast member of Basketball Wives, she gained recognition in the reality TV world, and it remains to be seen what her future endeavors may hold. As for Stephon Marbury, he continues his coaching career in China, leaving behind the tumultuous chapters of his personal life.

While the details of the divorce settlement remain undisclosed, it is evident that Tasha and Stephon have reached a point of mutual understanding and are ready to embark on separate paths. Their marriage, once plagued by infidelity and controversy, has come to an end, providing an opportunity for both individuals to seek happiness and fulfillment in their individual lives.
