Almost thirteen years ago, Chris Brown assaulted his girlfriend, Rihanna, in a bloody attack on Grammy night. An event that would change the course of both artists’ careers and change how the world saw Brown.
Up until that moment, Brown had a clean slate making hit records “Kiss Kiss,” “With You,” and “Forever.” Brown looked unstoppable until her Rihanna beat revealed a darker side of the star. According to reports, they were going to the Grammy’s when an argument between the two superstars ended with Brown beating Work singer.
“I remember she was trying to kick me. It was just her just being upset. But then I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her and it busted her lip. And when I saw it, I was in shock. Why the hell did I hit her? He shared In the documentary, Chris Brown: Welcome to my Life in 2017.”
“From there, she just spit in my face, spit blood in my face, so it enraged me even more. It was a real fight in a car.”
What happened after is something that both entertainers could not foresee coming. Brown was outcast, while Rihanna was seen as his victim.
In a recent appearance on the Clubhouse app, Wack 100 was on the Clubhouse app discussing Tory Lanez’s legal troubles with Megan Thee Stallion and not revealing a plea deal last week.
Also, during that conversation, Wack 100 shared that if it were not for BET and Michael Jackson, Brown’s career would not have recovered the way it has.
“It wasn’t for the BET and the Michael Jackson tribute and Chris [Brown] doing the job that he did. He broke down and got emotional let him back in the door. Before that would not play Chris on the radio, they were pulling his s*** down. So it was over with for him before that. Remember, they could have used Usher [Raymond] instead,” said Wack.
Since then, Chris Brown has been able to turn his career around and continue to make timeless hit records just like his idol Michael Jackson.
