A song of resolution in the face of hardship, need, and despair, “We Will Get Through This,” the latest single from Chris Oledude, arrives with a soft power that envelops long. The track follows up as the fifth single from his debut album “PREACHER MAN – VOL. 1,” and it marks a pivotal emotional shift in tone and purpose. Placed directly in the center of the album sequence as its sole ballad, it follows as a track that bathes in the brutality of war and loss, casting this release as a kind of deep breath after devastation.

The idea for “We Will Get Through This” is highly personal and comes from lived experience. During a one-year temporary administrative posting with a small not-for-profit mental health and drug and alcohol-focused corporation, Oledude saw firsthand the commitment, vision, and emotional burden that people carry when they try to help vulnerable people. As the assignment came to a close in August 2024, the song developed spontaneously.

Dedicated to the Philipstown Behavioral Health Hub in Cold Spring, NY, it addresses the invisible emotional labor of caregivers, families, and advocates. Oledude recognizes the unconditional love called for in working with people who wrestle with psychological and emotional torture, as well as the difficult after-effects of that struggle. “We Will Get Through This” traces a path toward empathy, patience, and quiet conviction. In the context of “PREACHER MAN – VOL. 1,” it is a moment of compassion and humanity, a reminder for the ages that healing is seldom loud but always essential.
