Pelicans’ Zion Williamson Has His Eyes Set On This Year’s MVP Award, Says Personal Chef

New Orleans Pelicans finished the season with a first-round exit against the Phoenix Suns. In a series that was a lot closer than most would give the Pelicans their credit for and has many Pelicans excited for next season with Zion Williamson, CJ McCollum, and Brandon Ingram all in the fold.
Including head coach of Power in the Big 3, Nancy Lieberman, who also covers the New Orleans Pelicans for Bally Sports Southwest.
“Pelican played great a year ago; I know with Zion back, I know they will work together. I really like this team. They get up and down the floor, and Willie Green is a great coach,” said Lieberman.
Pelicans Forward Zion Williamson has been criticized for his weighed dating back to his freshman year at Duke. However, during his rehab process trying work his way back from a foot injury during the 2021 season, it was reported that Williamson’s weight was over 300 pounds.
Tim MacMahon of ESPN reported that Williamson, working his way back from a broken leg repaired surgery, weighs 330 pounds.
“The number I’ve heard from several places on Zion is 70 pounds higher than 260. I’ll let you do the math on that,” MacMahon said on “The Lowe Post” podcast.
Per ESPN, the Pelicans made some adjustments to Williamson’s diet last November, which has helped to control his weight.
“They have changed members of the staff and even changed some of their culinary practices in an attempt to support him.”
According to Nola.com, the former number one pick hired a personal chef by name of Christian Green.
Green has been working with Williamson for five months, and he is on a paleo diet, which eliminates sugar and carbs. Green also shared that Williamson’s goal this season is to win the MVP award.
Williamson recently agreed on a multi-year contract extension.
