Fifteen years ago, Rihanna’s publicist, Jonathan Hay, helped break her single “Pon de Replay. ” The single was off her debut project “Music of the Sun” through Def Jam.

Hay decided to develop a marketing campaign that involved a love triangle, which features New President of Def Jam, Jay-Z, now wife Beyoncé, and Rihanna. However, Hay at the time did not account for Rihanna’s age, who was 17.

During a 2015, interview with Inside Edition, Hay revealed that he made up the story to bring attention to the single.

“It was all a publicity stunt. I was desperate at the time because I wanted to have a hit record,”said Hay.

In 2014, there was a an elevator fight between Jay Z and his sister-in-law Solange. Many people that is started because the “On The Run” artist wanted to party with Rihanna following the Met gala in New York.

In 2016, Beyoncé released her album Lemonade, and throughout the project, some revealing lyrics indicate that Jay-Z cheated on her.

A year later, Jay-Z released his album ‘4:44’ dives into her perspective. However, during a CNN interview with Van Jones, Jay-Z revealed that Beyoncé is his soul mate.

“That’s my soul mate. It’s the person I love. You can be in love with someone, you can love someone, and if you haven’t experienced love or don’t understand it or you don’t have the tools to move forward then you are going to have complications. Period,” he said.

Throughout their careers, Beyoncé and Rihanna have never collaborated on music together. However, two years ago, a snippet was released to social media, which featured both artists, but no full project was ever released.

Both individuals have gone on to have successful careers without working together. There has been a lot of chatter about what would happen if both were to face off against one another in today’s culture.

Ne-Yo, who has worked with both artists in the past was recently asked on the Club House App, if he had to pick between the two in a Versus Battle, who would he pick.

“Wow, that’s a questioned that can get me in trouble,犀利士 ” said Ne-Yo

“Can’t we all just get along. Damn, I genuinely don’t know because that might be one of the Verzuz to end all Verzuz right there. If that were to ever happen, I think the whole world might tune it for that. I think that one might break the record. We might get 6 billion people in one place at one time for that Verzuz”

He would continue: “I don’t know because from a standpoint musically to a standpoint outside the music business. They have both done so much and at that point it would come down to opinion of who songs you like best. Because it’s not who songs are bigger, they both had major records. And, I genuinely can’t pick one over the other.”

Let’s see if Timbaland and Swizz Beat can make it happen for the culture.
