Afterward, in an interview with ET’s Denny Directo at Billboard’s Golden Globes after-party, Koy addressed the viral moment, seemingly unfazed by Swift’s response.
“Aww, man, it was cute. I was just saying it was cute,” Koy responded to Directo’s inquiry about the joke. “I was just saying it’s less cutaways, that’s all.”
Directo playfully suggested that perhaps Swift was simply thirsty for champagne when the camera caught her taking a sip, to which Koy replied with a lighthearted “Aww, man,” shaking Directo’s hand and smiling.
While Swift’s reaction might have appeared less than enthusiastic, Koy seemed content with his hosting duties and highlighted the impressive sweep of wins by the AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islander) community during the awards.
“It’s not just one, it’s for all of us,” Koy remarked on the significance of the AAPI wins.
Swift, who has previously addressed the backlash over the NFL’s frequent coverage of her presence at Kelce’s games, shared her perspective in Time’s Person of the Year profile.
“I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads, and Chads,” Swift stated.
