California Skate, the latest project by Sheldon Bailey, known for his energetic television appearances, takes him into a nostalgic and lively era. The roller disco movie from 1979 chronicles the energy, style, and culture of the 1970s. The neon lights of a roller rink enhance California.

Bailey, Henry Winkler, Bridget Moynahan, Brooke Shields, Jay Mohr, and Monique Coleman expressed their enthusiasm about working on this unique production. Bailey, who has primarily worked in television, expressed his appreciation for the chance to work on a film project.

“It’s always good to get in the building,” Bailey said. “I’ve done a lot of TV shows, but movies are a different experience altogether. This project, in particular, is close to my heart because of its creative essence—a period piece set in the ‘70s with roller skating and disco. It’s a vibe I’m thrilled to explore.”

A Star-Studded Experience

Bailey expressed a positive attitude towards working with iconic actors. “I got to work more with Jay Mohr than I did with Brooke Shields, but I did get to interact with Brooke, see her within her process. And Henry Winkler—he’s a legendary actor. Just being in the building with all these talented individuals was a gift.”

The actor stated that he is involved in California Skate due to his new management team, Sandstone Artists, led by Tammy Hunt.

“I got signed with Sandstone Artists after releasing  [Of FX’s] Clipped, and they hit the ground running for me. This project was one of the first they brought my way, and it’s been a fantastic start.”

Capturing the Roller Disco Magic

The film, directed, written, and produced by David Kukoff (Model Behavior), promises to capture the vibrant roller disco culture of the late ‘70s. California Skate examines the lives of teens who have experienced a transformative night that includes first loves, new friendships, and the excitement of growing up.

“The wardrobe for this movie is second to none,” Bailey shared, reflecting on the attention to detail in recreating the era. “The poster looks amazing, and the costumes really capture the essence of roller disco in California during the ‘70s. It’s going to resonate with audiences.”

Bringing a Vision to Life

Bridget Moynahan, Cheryl Bayer, and Wendy Eley Jackson. Bernie Kukoff and Marc R. Gordon are executive producers. California Skate promises to deliver a visual feast of neon lights, vintage roller skates, and retro vibes, filmed on location in Grand Terrace, California.

Bailey believes the film’s reception will be good, citing its unique premise and strong creative vision. “It’s an independent project with a moderate budget, but the theme and execution are bound to get a lot of love. People are going to connect with the nostalgia and the energy of the story.”

First-look images for California Skate have already begun to generate buzz. As audiences await its release, they offer a glimpse into the roller rink magic and emotional journeys that the film will bring to the screen. Bailey’s flourishing career has reached another milestone with the opportunity to participate in such a dynamic and culturally rich project.

California Skate will transport viewers back in time, allowing them to relive an unforgettable era’s joy, style, and heart.
