After former Little Mix member, Jesy Nelson was criticized for Blackfishing and Cultural Ownership in his new music video, Nicki Minaj decided to intervene.

Nelson, who is white, has been the focus of “Blackfishing” concerns since the video for “Boyz” was published. The track features Nelson’s solo debut with Minaj.

Now, Nelson’s featured artist Nicki Minaj is coming to her defense.

“If you want a solo career baby just say that… If that’s how you felt, why were you kiki’ing with her & being in videos with her for 10 years….”

“Sweetheart, take them text messages and shove it up your fucking ass,” Nicki said. “When you do clown shit, I gotta treat you and talk to you like you a clown. [You] don’t have to come out and try to ruin anyone. Let her enjoy this time.”

Nicki continued, sharing what Leigh-Ann was, “in this woman’s roof and you ain’t talk about this shit for 10 years.”

“And as soon as you see she got a video coming out with Nicki Minaj and Puffy, now you sending stations text messages and all this shit, print those messages out, busy yo ass open and shove it up your motherfucking ass.”

Jesy also talked about her time in the group that she left in December for mental health reasons. She shared on Instagram Live with Minaj that she was “in a group with two women of color for 9 years,” and it was never brought up to her until they recorded her last video with the group, “Sweet Melody.”

“She messaged me and said, ‘Jesy, I just want to make you aware that…,'” Jesy began to say before Nicki added that people should “focus on your own energy.”
