Mark Cuban Thinks Kobe Could Have Dropped 120 Points Back in 2005 Against Mavs
It has been ten years since the Dallas Mavericks ended the Los Angeles Lakers’ opportunity to have a three-peat. The Mavericks would go on to sweep the Lakers in four games. It was one of the few times the Mavericks get the best of Kobe Bryant. On their way to winning the first championship in franchise history.
Some see the 2011 playoff runs as the defining period in franchise history as well. The Mavericks beat the Portland Trailblazers, the Lakers, Oklahoma City Thunder, and the Miami Heat.
However, who can forget Kobe Bryant’s performance against the Dallas Mavericks in the Staple Center on December 20, 2005. Bryant outscored the Mavericks [by himself through three quarters [62-61] and sat out the whole fourth quarter as the Lakers won 112-90.
But, how many points could Bryant have scored if, he played the fourth quarter and possibly overtime if got that far.
Dallas Mavericks Chairman Mark Cuban thinks Bryant could have dropped 120 on Dallas that night.
“The way we were playing, I was like knock him on his a**. Guys were looking at me like it’s Kobe, and it just happened. I think he could have scored a 120,” said Cuban.
According to Darrell Armstrong, who was a member of that Dallas Mavericks team that got torched by Bryant. He did not say one word.
“Not one word,” Armstrong told ONE37pm via text.
When asked if the Mavericks knew Bryant would be sitting out the fourth quarter. Armstrong replied, yes, they were up big. “Yes, because they were up 30 points.”
He continued: “Stackhouse said to me, DA, just think if the game was close? He scores 100 points on us. I said yep.”
