Drake Bodies Kanye West ON 7 Am On Bridle Path
After months of speculation, and delays Drake’s new studio album, “Certified Lover Boy,” finally arrived… one hour later than expected, at 1:00 a.m. ET instead of midnight. For an album he had promised to release a year ago, what’s an extra hour, right?
Featured guests include Jay-Z, Kid Cudi, Lil Baby, Lil Wayne, Rick Ross, Young Thug, Future, 21 Savage, Tems, Project Pat, Yebba, Giveon, and Ty Dolla $ign.
Over the past few weeks, attention has turned to the new dispute between Drake and Kanye West. West, of course, is currently freshly out of a trio of listening events focused on the art of performance (and a possible streaming release) for his new album Donda on August 27th.
Bu Thiam, the manager of West, spoke with TMZ before the release of the CLB and said that everything was a matter of “two creatives taking jabs at each other.” For now, at least, he added that any issues have been “rectified.” However, he also noted that West and company are waiting to see “what [Drake] “says on his album.”
Well, Drake unleashed some of what he wanted to say about West on a track called 7 Am On Bridle Path.
The first shot Drake took at West was with the line, “The first second they speak to me, I’m not with all the secrecy Secretly beefin’ me behind closed doors,” said Drake.
“But playin’ it peacefully for the streets to see My nigga, have some decency Don’t move like a puto Could at least keep it a buck like Antetokounmpo….”
If you continue to listen to the single, you figure out that Drake is not done with dissing Kanye West.
“You boys reachin’ new lows Lettin’ me take the wrath of that Casper The Ghost shit While you findin’ all of the loopholes You niggas move too cold See the watch collection and assume I got time ‘Cause of the Rubi Rose two-tone…”
Drake is clearly responding to Ye’s group chat, asking where his green watch is at.
“I want you to make my Diamonds do,” said Ye.
Drake talked about Pusha T guilted West to give him information on Drake’s son Adonis on HBO’s ‘The Shop.’
“Had somebody put you on a guilt and you play with my seed Trust me, there’s some shit you really gotta come see to believe That’s why your people not believers, they all leavin’ ya’ “
Drake accused West of being jealous and the media hyping him up throughout his listening party events, which led up to the release of Donda.
That’s why you buyin’ into the hype that the press feedin’ ya’ You know the fourth level of jealousy is called “Media” Isn’t than an ironic revelation?…”
The lyrics read: “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know.
“Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go.”
He added: “Ye ain’t changin’ s*** for me, it’s set in stone.”
