On Saturday night, five-time Grammy winner Mariah Carey was on Instagram Live with D Nice. Carey looked like she was in the studio. When Nice stated, “Wait, you are in the studio working on new music?”
Carey would reply, “I can’t make announcements of that sort.”
She would go on to say, “Stuff is happening.”
Throughout the quarantine D Nice has been providing entertainment on Instagram Live by spinning records into the wee hours of the morning.
According to Mariah, she hopped on Instagram Live with Nice to commemorate the moment together.
“This is just my personal thing, and why I did ask you to come and say hi to everyone. Because there were times during the quarantine where I felt a little down, and I wasn’t with my family. We have met each other before; I deejayed an event for you in the past, an album release party,” said Nice.
Mariah: Yes, you did The Emancipation of Mimi album release party.
“But during the quarantine when popped up on the IG, it felt like this thing was really bringing people together because you weren’t always on your social media like that. And you were popping up, leaving comments. But, seeing your name pop up gave so many people hope and inspiration,” Nice shared. And it gave me the same thing because I felt like Mariah is here. Outside of being a fan, I think you are just a dope person, and we all love the way you handled your career. The way you treat people, you have always been dope, so like, that’s so dope.”
Carey would reply, “I love that about you as well, and everybody should know that and know what a great person you are. And you deserve this success, and what you give back to people is invaluable. So, I enjoy [you] and appreciate you.”
She also let him know that her actual anniversary is March 27th and asked maybe Nice could play some nice tunes at 2 am. The anniversary Carey is referring to is her birthday, and she will be turning 50 years old.
“3-27 is the anniversary of my birth, but I only have anniversaries. We don’t know what that it is, I am trying to do something festive. I don’t know if you have Ideas let me know,” she said.
Nice would go on to say, “Here is what’s happening, 3-27 is the Image Awards, and I am nominated for entertainer of the year. So, you and I are having this joint party because we are going to celebrate your anniversary win or not. I don’t care I am still going to celebrate the fact that people acknowledge me for what happen this past year. So we are having a party nest Saturday. After tomorrow I am not jumping back on social media until your anniversary because I do want to do a tribute to you,” Nice revealed.
He will be playing numerous hits from Carey’s music catalog so make sure you tune in next Saturday.
