Victor Oladipo Might Be Sidelined Until At Least January, Per Report
Last week, the Miami Heat announced that Victor Oladipo has opted to have season-ending surgery on his right quadriceps tendon, according to ESPN’s Royce Young.
On Thursday, Oladipo had surgery in New York, and according to the team, there is no timetable for his recovery.
According to former Los Angeles Lakers trainer, Marco Nunez it hard to tell what Oladipo’s for exactly.
“It’s hard to tell what the surgery is for, but it appears that it may be associated with the right quad tendon rupture he sustained and had surgery for last year,” said Nunez.
“Unfortunately, the surgery can clean up some scar tissue that has developed or potentially address, and micro-tears have developed in the quad tendon without any details.”
Per Barry Jackson and Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald, there is a strong chance that the former two-time all-star will miss the start of next season. However, he remains optimistic that he will be able to play at some point next season.
Oladipo will have to wait for the injury to heal, but that doesn’t help his free agency stock this upcoming off-season.
Jackson shared that a return in December, January, or February is a “strong possibility.” He is also open to returning to Miami.
In May, Oladipo purchased a $8 million home in Miami Beach, which features two master suites and three en-suite bedrooms, a pool and a pool house, according to the Real Deal.
Victor Olapido, in 33 games this season for the Heat and Rockets, and Pacers, is averaging 19.8 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.6 assists per game.
