Lakers Will 3-Peat, Says Sports Host
It has been a little over a month since the Los Angeles Lakers won their 17th Championship. Ultimately tying their rivals Boston Celtics for the most in league history.
After the Lakers secured the Larry O’Brien trophy during the post-game celebration, free agent to be Anthony Davis said “We’re gonna run it right back.”
Best For Business host Walt Chism not only thinks the Lakers will repeat, but they will three-peat. A feat that has not been done since Kobe and Shaq achieved it in the early 2000s.
“The Lakers will three-peat,” Chism told me by phone. “LeBron James is still the best player in the world and reclaimed his throne this season.”
According to Brandon ‘Scoop B’ Robinson, it really depends on how healthy the Lakers are and who they are able to resign.

If the Lakers were to able repeat, Anthony Davis would have to re-sign with the team this off-season. When asked about his first season in Los Angeles by ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk, Davis said, he had a great time.
“I had a great time in L.A. this first year,” Davis said, according to ESPN’s Ohm Youngmisuk. “This has been nothing but joy, nothing but amazement. Over the next couple of months, we’ll figure it out. I mean, I’m not 100 percent sure, but that’s why my agent [Rich Paul] is who he is, and we’ll discuss it and figure it out.”
According to Lakers’ vice president of basketball operations and general manager, Rob Pelinka, he is going to do whatever he can to keep pieces around Anthony Davis and LeBron James.
“We do want to do a couple things. We hope that we can have another championship run next year, for sure, and we’re going to work hard to try to keep the pieces around LeBron and AD, build pieces around LeBron and AD to do that, Pelinka said on The Woj Pod. “But also, with the future, again, if you study our cap (space) we have the flexibility to say, ‘Can we add another really, really talented young player to run it out with AD if he chooses to stay as a free agent for five, six, seven, eight years?”
