The Atlanta Falcons fell to their division rivals, the New Orleans Saints, 27-26. Jameis Winston finished the game, completing 23 passes out of 34 attempts with 269 yards and two touchdowns. Jarvis Landry had seven catches for 114 yards, averaging 16.3 yards per catch. Taysom Hill led the team in rushing with 81 yards on four carries and averaged 20.1 with a touchdown.

“It was exciting,” Winston said with a smile. “We’ve just got to find a way to get there quicker.”

“I’m happy with our resilience,” Winston said. “We never gave up.”

As for the Falcons, Marcus Mariota finished with 215 yards completing 20 of 35 passes. He also carried the ball 12 times for 72 yards and a touchdown. Cordarrelle Patterson rushed for 120 yards, averaged 5.5 per carry, and a touchdown. Rookie wide receiver Drake London had five catches for 74 yards averaging 14.8 per catch.

“You guys wrote our obituary back in May, and you’ll continue to write our obituary,” second-year coach Arthur Smith to reporters. “Who cares? We’ve got 16 games to learn from this and get better.”

The Falcons lost a heartbreaker at home in Mercedes Benz Stadium, and for one Falcon fan, he took two L’s on Sunday afternoon. His favorite team lost, and he got beat up in the concourse after the game.
