The Los Angeles Lakers have completed their journey to capture their 17th championship in franchise history. They were also able to make Kobe Bryant proud by finishing the task. Bryant, along with his daughter Gigi and seven other victims lost their lives earlier this year in a plane crash in root to The Mamba Sports Academy, which later retired the word Mamba out of respect for Bryant.
Sports Academy CEO Chad Faulkner, decided to change the building name back to Sports Academy.
“Our beliefs and thoughts are Kobe is one of one. ‘Mamba’ is one of one,” Faulkner told The Undefeated. “And with that as we carry on as the Sports Academy, it’s more appropriate to put Kobe in another hall of fame, if you will, and to really respect a legacy that is really unrivaled, frankly, and let that live on its own. We will continue to do the work we do.
“We were fortunate to learn from Kobe. We will carry on much of those learnings that we have in a respectful way.”
Lakers Superfan Snoop Dogg was celebrating on IG Live on Sunday night, and paid his respect to Kobe Bryant.
“Rest in Peace to Kobe [Bryant],” said Snoop Dogg.
Snoop also shared that he will be visiting his tattoo artist and might get the Larry O’Brien Trophy tattooed on himself.
“I got a birthday coming up, this is one hell of a birthday gift. I gotta go get that tattoo though. I told N***s if the Lakers won I gotta go get a tattoo. So, that’s next. Cartoon get your needle together, so you can strike up, I may get the Larry O’Brien [Trophy] or something.”
