The Rock Is WWE’s Version Of LeBron, MJ & Dr. J says Mark Henry

Julius “Dr. J’ Erving is one of the most recognized names in professional basketball. The NBA Hall of Famer and former championship help revolutionized the “Slam Dunk” contest.

In professional wrestling, many agree that his contemporaries would include “Rowdy” Roddy Piper, Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, Bret Hart, The Undertaker, Dusty Rhodes, and Stone Cold Steve Austin. Are all consider the cream of the crop, but one man that has been able to transition from the world of wrestling into a Hollywood Megastar Dwayne “The Rock Johnson.  He has won numerous Wrestling title in the WWE and WWF during the “Attitude Era,” and has gone on to star in films such as Baywatch, Central Intelligence, The Fast in the Furious, Jumanji, and has one of HBO’s successful in Ballers.

WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry recently spoke with Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson, and the Hall of Famer compared The Rock to DR. J., MJ., and LeBron James.

“He was LeBron, he was Julius Erving, he was Jordan,” WWE Hall of Famer, Mark Henry told me. “He transcended the business because he was a transcending guy,” Henry told Robinson.

Dr, J made it cool to rock the afro and wear Converse Sneakers, and in the 90s, MJ did the same when he partnered with Nike. The rest of the culture followed his lead.

Also, in the 90s, Michael Jordan would lead the Chicago Bulls along with head coach Phil Jackson, and core that featured Horace Grant, Scottie Pippen, Steve Kerr, and Dennis Rodman to six championships. As the team success continued to grow, so did Jordan’s brand under the Nike umbrella.

As for, LeBron James, he is the current face of the NBA  and has changed the way we look at long-term contracts moving forward.

Robinson also had the opportunity to speak with Dr. J earlier this year about LeBron James status as G.O.A.T.

“It’s very subjective,” Dr. J, Julius Erving told Scoop B Radio. “You say: ‘Michael or LeBron who was better’ or who was the greatest, the GOAT, that is for the fans to argue about.”

Mark Henry shared what he thinks makes The Rock so great, and that is the knowledge of the greats, who have come before him.

According to Henry, The Rock would ask him questions testing his knowledge on the greats in the business.

“He asked me if I had ever watched his grandfather,” said  Henry.

“If I had ever watched Big John Stud, and he named about five or six big guys, and I was like, “yeah, I love seeing them”, he said: “no, like did you study the psychology, like why they did things?” and I’m like, “not really”,  and he said “you should”, and he was right. That was one of the things that he did for the business that a lot of people didn’t understand.”

Henry would add:

“It’s a testament of your education and the history that you know because Dwayne would do things that only a third generation guy would do and he would force you to be up on the history, so you would know where you’re going.”
