Rockets Champion Believes John Wall Should Be Playing Basketball Somewhere, And Wall Agrees

Houston Rockets guard, John Wall has not touched the floor this season. The Rockets before the season started elected to sit Wall in favor of their young talent Jalen Green and Kevin Porter Jr. On Saturday afternoon, Adam Silver was asked situations similar to John Wall and the Rockets.

“Of course, I think it’s a problem when players are paid not to play. In some cases, that’s by mutual agreement with the team. Maybe the team is in a rebuilding situation that is focused on certain players. There’s a sense that (a) veteran player isn’t fitting in for whatever reason, to the culture they’re trying to create, said Silver.

It’s a hard line here because if it is truly by mutual agreement, I’m not sure the league office should be interfering. On the other hand… you have an aggregate hard cap, in essence, where 50% in our system is paid to the players. For every dollar that goes to a player that is not producing on the floor, that’s a dollar less that goes to a player that is performing. That shouldn’t be ideal for players or for teams.

During the Slam Dunk Contest, Rockets legend Kenny Smith shared that Jalen Green should of had Wall passing to him during his first dunk attempt. Since the person that was given the task wasn’t giving him the ball in a spot that would help him complete his dunk in the first round.

“He should’ve had John Wall throw the lob to him. Which is not fair, that’s another story, John Wall should be playing somewhere.”Which is not fair John Wall should be playing somewhere, but that’s another story,”

If you look at my tweet, John Wall’s official Twitter account liked first post. The Rockets are currently 15-39 and have been eliminated from play in contention. In addition, the trade deadline has passed, so the only that Wall could possibly play this season is if the Houston Rockets elect to buy him out of his contract with about a year and half left on it. Which according to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report last month, John Wall seems entrenched in Houston with zero inclination to accept any type of buyout, sources said.
