Nets Kevin Durant Is Really Different, Says Damian Lillard
Two seasons ago, the Brooklyn Nets elected to sign Kevin Durant, despite him rupturing his Achilles tendon in the 2019 NBA Finals. However, it looks like it was a great investment and gamble by the Nets.
On Tuesday night, Durant put on one of the performances in the history of the league. The two-time Finals MVP helped his team secure a game five victory despite being down 17 points at one point of the game. Kevin Durant finished the game with 49 points on 16-for-23 shooting to go along with 17 rebounds and 10 assists in 48 minutes as the Nets beat the Bucks114-108 taking a 3-2 lead as the series shifts back to Milwaukee. Tuesday night’s game is arguably the best game of Durant’s career.
“I didn’t even think about nothing but just each possession,” Durant said after the game. “I was trying to win each possession, and I didn’t think of how many points I had or shot attempts, rebounds, assists.
“It was more so like, ‘Just let me do what I need to do each possession.’ That’s the approach I always take.”
If you were to ask Trailblazers guard Damian Lillard, he would tell you that Durant is “Really Different.”
After the game, Lillard was on Instagram Live with fellow Bay Area native Mistah Fab when he was asked about Durant’s performance.
“Look man, I don’t like how people just be throwing around that aw, he different. Every time somebody does something they throw that s*** around lightly. KD really different. He is really different and I don’t hand out praise. I see through s***. KD really the truth, and I said it like a month ago,” said Lillard.
“KD people don’t really trying to give it up because he went to Golden State and all that, but he could very well could be the best player in the league. You can’t take nothing away from him.”
