Michael B. Jordan Blasted By ESPN’s Rachel Nichols For Outrageous Reason
Black Panther and Creed actor Michael B. Jordan is currently on his press run as he promotes his new project, Without Remorse featured on Amazon Prime.
Jordan recently made an appearance on ESPN’s The Jump, where host Rachel Nichols interviewed him. During their chat, Nichols took a jab at Jordan because apparently, he played basketball for his high school team at Newark Arts High School, which is known for its art programs more than its athletics.
Welcome in and its funny with all the conversations that you and I have had, I did not know until recently, that you played ball in high school. You were on the basketball team, but it was the Newark Arts High School,” said Nichols.
“And I got to ask you is that team any good or just paint your way or act your way through the game?”
Jordan replied, “is that a silent jab. I feel like it started off as a compliment, and it just turned on me really fast.”
Nichols: “I believe it is a direct jab.”
“Well, to be fair my jersey is retired,so whether I acted my way or not, I got buckets. Ask around, but yeah, I played ball a lot growing up. We weren’t known for our athletics, but at the same time I definitely held my own.”
Nichols would follow that jab up by asking since Jordan was in Newark was he a Nets fan.
“In Newark, I was a Knicks fan, but over the years, it has been real tough. As you grow up and you get the chance to really know these NBA players personally, you become fans of your friends. So, Kyrie [Irving], [Le] Bron [James], and guys of that nature. So, I don’t know who I am rooting for right now, I’m neutral,” said Jordan.
