It has been almost five months since Carmelo Anthony has been on the basketball court. His final game with the Houston Rockets, he scored two points and five rebounds.

The 10-time All-Star signed a one year deal with the Houston Rockets after being traded to the Atlanta Hawks from Oklahoma before the season started.  The Rockets would later trade Melo to the Chicago Bulls, but never suited up for them. He was immediately released and has not played a game since.  There were several reports that he was drawing interest from the Lakers, but that never materialized.

So, what next for the future Hall of Famer?

Former NBA Star Jerome Williams was a guest on the Scoop B Radio Podcast and had this to say about Melo.

“I hope he will be on a team next year,” Williams told Scoop B Radio Podcast host Brandon Robinson.

“I hope he’ll be on a Big 3 team next year.”

The former Detriot Piston is heading into his third season with Ice Cube’s Big 3 and wants to help grow the league.

As for future Hall of Famer, who has averaged 24 points犀利士
, 6.5 rebounds, and 3 assists throughout his 16-year career.  Can he still score?

“ Yeah definitely, I mean this is a guy who is probably to this today, one of the hardest guys to guard.  In isolation type of situations and he is a legend.  He is one of my favorite players to ever play and it is tough to see him go through what he is going through in the media.  I think he can definitely help a team, especially when playoff time comes when things start to stagnate. He is a veteran, so I hope he lands on his feet,“  Hood told me.

“Melo is a scoring machine,” Whiteside told me.

The other question is does Melo still want to play?

In a recent interview with Taryn Finley of the Huffington Post, Melo implied that he is at peace with walking away from the game of basketball.

“I’m sure [retirement is] coming soon. I’d be sitting, lying to you if I said it’s not coming soon. I think I want it to come soon. I don’t think I want to do this forever, but because you love it so much, it’s hard to give it up. At the end of the day, at anything you do, when it’s your time to go, it’s your time to go. But as long as you feel good with that.”

Kevin Love told me recently that Melo can still bring a hell of a lot to a team, and if you get him on the right team, there is going to be a lot of firepower for those guys.“

We will just have to see what Melo decides to do this summer.

What do you think?
