Carmelo Anthony Has A lot In The Tank Just Needed Right Opportunity, Says JAG

The Portland Trail Blazers went into Denver and stole game one from the Nuggets with a final score of 123-`09. The unsung here was none other than former Denver Nugget forward Carmelo Anthony, who scored 18 points 22 minutes off the bench.

Last season, Anthony was a part of the Blazers playoff team after missing nearly a year of his playing career after the Rockets traded him to the Bulls after just playing ten games.

His former music act shared that he would be a good fit with the Blazers not too long after his release.

“The Blazers would be the perfect fit for Melo; they have enough scorers right now at the guard position and the potential bigs,” said JAG.

At the time, it made a lot of sense, Anthony needs a team, and Portland needed another piece to complement their stars, Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum.

Over the weekend, JAG reached out to say, “I told you Melo had a lot left in the tank; he just needed the right opportunity to shine. I also think the crowd booing fueled Melo and added extra motivation.”

Anthony has been proving a lot of the naysayers wrong over the past year and a half as he was able to move into 10th all-time on the All-Time Scoring list with 27370 points, and if he can stay healthy will pass both Moses Malone and Shaquille O’Neal, next season for 8th and 9th on the all-time scoring list. If you were wondering where Anthony is on the all-time playoff scoring list, he is currently 74th.

The Blazers and the Nuggets resume their series tonight at 10 pm EST on TNT.
