Mark Cuban On The Rock Possibly Running For President “I’m Open To Anybody“
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is one of the most recognizable figures in sports entertainment and one the most sought-after actors in Hollywood. The former Miami Hurricane made the transition upon finishing college, he went to play in the CFL for the Calgary Stampeders, but two months in the 1995 season he was cut from the team.
After being cut, he began training to follow in his father’s Rocky Johnson and his grandfather’s High Chief Peter Maivia footstep in professional wrestling.
The Rock would make his debut in the WWF (WWE) at the time under the name “Rocky Maivia” at WWE’s Survivor Series in Madison Square Garden in November of 1996.
During his first run with the WWE, he was able to hit the ground running obtaining the WWF/WWE Champion eight times, WCW/World Champion twice, WWF Intercontinental Champion twice, WWF Tag Team Championships on five separate occasions. Also, he was able to win the 2000 Royal Rumble and is one of six WWE triple Crown title winners.
In 2000, his autobiography made its debut on the The New York Times Best Seller list in the number one spot.
The Rock would be cast in his first leading role in a movie called The Scorpion King in 2002. Since then he has been in movies such as The Fast and the Furious franchise as Luke Hobbs. Other films include Baywatch, The Mummy Returns, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, and Central Intelligence to name a few.
In 2017, The Rock announced that he was thinking about possibly running for president one day. During an interview with Ellen Degeneres, he was really considering the possibility of it.
“I can tell you with all honesty that the consideration comes at the desire from a large amount of people that would like to see this happen,” says The Rock.
When he was again if he planned on running in 2020, he answered: “probably be the case.”
During an interview with Variety, he stated due to film obligations it would have to wait before he officially announces his intentions.
“Realistically, as we go into 2018, when you look at my slate as we’re developing and shooting into 2019 and 2020, the slate goes deep into 2021, so it feels like the realistic consideration would be 2024,” The Rock says.
In the past, he was registered as a Republican and has made an appearance at the Republican Convention to help drum up support. As reported by the Washington Post he told USA today, “Right now I’m an independent.”
Someone that would be open to hear what “The Great One” his policies might be is Dallas Mavericks Owner, Mark Cuban.
“I don’t know any about what he wants to, so I don’t know. I’m open to anybody I always have an open mind,” Cuban told me.
In July of 2015, Cuban praised Trump after he first announced that he would be running for president, but after a month Cuban would share on the Cyberdust app speculation of Trump’s own net worth was “bragging” at best. He would continue by saying the 10 billion self-assessment was a “play number” and would call the GOP candidate “Paper Tiger” while pondering his business capability.
A month later Cuban would change his mind and jumped on his Cyber Dust app, and stated: “probably the best thing to happen to politics in a long, long time.”

“It’s rare that you see someone get stupider before your eyes, but he’s really working at it.”
He spoke about it further in an interview with Fortune.

By the time July 2016 rolled around, Cuban stated that he was no longer a supporter of calling himself a “#NeverTrump” via Twitter.
We will have to see when The Rock decides to throw his hat i n the ring and what his policies maybe. If or when he does decide to run for president.
