Hopefully, Seattle Gets A NBA Team Soon, Says Two Former NBA Vets

Earlier this month, Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked what the NBA is missing not having a Seattle franchise. Kerr responded, “To me, it is like not having the Warriors in Oakland or the Bay Area. To me, those two franchises were like mirror images for a long time,” said Kerr.
“I thought it was a travesty when the Sonics left Seattle, and I hope at a point sometime soon Seattle will get that team back.”
He not the only one from the NBA community that enjoyed the yearly trips to the Emerald City during the NBA season.
Former 16 year NBA veteran had nothing but nice things to say about Seattle and their fans.
‘Seattle was great, I enjoyed playing there. Hopefully, they come back they have a bunch of great hoopers, that come from that area. I sure those guys would love for Seattle to have a pro team back as well,” said Johnson.
On Saturday night, during the Golden State Warriors and Brooklyn Nets, NBA champion Shawn Marion and G-League Commissioner Shareef Abdur-Rahim were a part of the NBA Watch party on Clubhouse. Giving their opinion on the game and answering questions from fans, other players, and media members. During this session, both former players were asked what the NBA is missing not being in Seattle.
“Back when Gary Payton and Shawn Kemp were playing in Seattle, they had Key Arena rocking. The fans in Seattle have always been supportive of their teams, and I hope the NBA returns to Seattle soon,” says Shareef Abdur-Rahim.
“I agree with that, says Marion. “It was always fun to play in Seattle when I was in the league, and as Reef said, I hope they get a team soon.”
Last month, NBA Commissioner revealed that the City of Seattle is at the top of the NBA list when they decide to expand.
“I hear from fans of the old Sonics fans in Seattle all the time and so there’s no doubt when we do turn back to expansion… one day, that Seattle will be at the top of the list,” said Silver.
The commissioner said he was sad about the “unfortunate set of circumstances that led to that team leavin g.”
Sonics fans won’t be h appy until their team is back where it belongs.
