Celtics’ Jaylen Brown Draws Comparisons To Warriors’ Klay Thompson From Analyst

Boston Celtics shooting guard Jaylen Brown is averaging career highs in several categories this season: 20.6 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 48.8 % field goal percentage, 38.9 from three, and 73.1 from the free-throw line, according to Basketball Reference.
Brown has improved every season since entering the league in 2016. In the NBA bubble, he is turning into a Superstar and starting to make fans and NBA experts notice that he is more than a second option when Jayson Tatum is not available.
Last week, Celtics great Kendrick Perkins shared that he felt Brown was the best two-way player in the game and should have been an All-Star this season. “Jaylen Brown, to me, is the best all-around shooting guard in the league.” Ok, says Perkins. “Jalen Brown should have been an All-Star this year. Straight Up…”.
Last month, former NFL veteran turned analyst Marcus Spears compared Brown to another two-way and three-time NBA Champion, Klay Thompson, on First Take.
“Everybody knows the guard play in Boston, them guys [are] some animals. Jaylen Brown is on his way, this is similar to what we talked about with Klay Thompson. Jaylen Brown to me, reminds me a lot of that,” said Spears. “A guy that we are going to start to gain a lot of respect for as the season goes along. And he keeps popping up as being one of the better players.”
In the same segment, Perkins stated that Brown was one of the best two-way players in the game today.
“Now, you look at a guy like Jaylen Brown, one of the best two-way players today. A guy that can give 20 plus points on one end on 50 percent shooting and clamp you down on the other end said Perkins.
Klay Thompson is currently out for the season with a torn ACL, which he suffered last summer in the NBA Finals against the Toronto Raptors. Thompson’s assignment when he is on the floor is to guard the other team’s best player on defense and help provide offensive help on the other end as the Celtics expect from Brown and his teammate Jayson Tatum.
The Celtics’ next game is against the Orlando Magic tomorrow at 5 pm EST.
