Mary J. Blige Reveals She Had To Go Into Some Dark Places To Channel Her Inner ‘Monet Tejada’

We are less than a month away from the return of Power Book II Ghost Season two on Starz. The show follows Tariq St. Patrick just months after killing his father at his club, ‘Truth Night Club.’
However, the show also highlights her new patron, the queen in drug, Monet Tejada (Mary J. Blige). Ruthless and ruthless, Tariq accidentally found himself at the mercy of Monet and Tejdas.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Mary L Blige, who plays Monet Tejada revealed, her own personal style inspired her character wardrobe.
“Sometimes I feel like I look like a drug dealer, sometimes I feel like a classy lady,” she said in style. However, it was this power that really wooed Blige to Monet. “Women see themselves in these powerful female characters,” she said Entertainment Weekly. “I know I see myself in them.”
On Tuesday evening, Yonkers native was on Instagram Live with D Nice and revealed that she had to go into some heavy places to play Monet Tejada.
“Man, I had to channel everything. I had to go to some dark places, but you know she exists,” said Blige.
“That chick exists in every hood, even now she exists. So, I know her very well and I grew up with her. She is a real person, so I had to visit some really heavy places.”
Mary added that “Monet is going crazy, so get your TVs ready and y’all get ready.”
Power Book II Ghost season two returns November 21 on Starz at 8 PM EST.
