The Denver Nuggets are currently in the sixth spot in the Western conference with a 12-10. MVP candidate Nikola Jokic is a major reason why the Nuggets have been in playoff contention this season.
He leads his team in points with 27.2, rebounds with 11.5, assists with 8.6, steals with 1.7, and blocks with 0.6 per game.
According to Ryan Hollins, Jokic might be the only person in the league-leading his team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks.
Brendan Haywood thinks that Jokic could win the MVP, if he can get the Nuggets as a top three seed in the west.
“I’m going to say this, and I think more people should feel this one. It is not the sexy pick; it is not the name people want to see; his game is not flashy. If the Denver Nuggets finish in the top three in the west, and Joker’s number, they like this where he is average 26 [points], 12 [rebounds], and 9 [assists}. He should be the MVP,” said Haywood.
Haywood doubled-down on his commits
“If the Joker averages 26 points, 12 rebounds, and 9 assists, and the Nuggets finish anywhere in the top three in the west than he should be the MVP.”
The season is not half way over yet, so Jokic has a lot of time to help lead his team back up the western conference leader board when it comes to the wins column. He also has time to go in the other direction as well. So, we will have to see which way that goes.
Tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Nuggets have an opportunity to improve there record to 13-10 or if they loss 12-11. Hopefully, the Nuggets can get a much need win this evening.
