Prince George’s County Police Investigate Controversial Video Involving Officer

A recent video circulating online has sparked an investigation by Prince George’s County police after it appeared to show an officer involved in a questionable interaction with a woman. The video, captured by Nelson Ochoa on Labor Day, depicts an embrace and an intimate interaction between the officer and the woman before they both entered the back of the police cruiser, leaving many questions unanswered.

Southlawn Park in Oxon Hill was the setting for this unexpected turn of events. Ochoa, who was enjoying a game of soccer with other families at the park, began recording when a Prince George’s County police cruiser pulled up and parked nearby. He couldn’t have anticipated what he would witness next.

“As soon as I started recording, a car pulled up and a young lady came out,” Ochoa recalled.

In the video, the officer and the woman can be seen embracing and sharing a kiss before getting into the back of the police cruiser. What unfolded next left those watching the video stunned.

“We couldn’t believe what we were seeing, and what really made us go, wow, this is crazy, is when the car started rocking a little bit to the left and right. That’s when we were, like, this is crazy. In broad daylight with kids around,” Ochoa explained.

According to Ochoa, the interaction continued for approximately 35 to 40 minutes before the officer and the woman abruptly drove away in opposite directions.

Prince George’s County police have acknowledged the video and launched an investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident. While the officer’s identity has been identified, authorities have not yet released his name. Multiple sources have suggested that the officer in question is Francesco Marlett, who has reportedly been suspended from the force.

The video, which has garnered 2 million views online, has ignited a wave of public interest and concern. Community members are calling for a thorough examination of the incident to ensure transparency and accountability within the police department.

Nelson Ochoa, who captured the video, hopes that law enforcement authorities will carefully assess the content of the footage. He believes that it is crucial for the community to understand the conduct of the officers sworn to protect them.

News4 reached out to Officer Marlett for a response but has not received a reply at the time of writing.

As the investigation unfolds, it serves as a reminder of the importance of transparency and accountability within law enforcement agencies. It also underscores the role of technology and citizen involvement in bringing potential issues to light, allowing communities to have a voice in matters that impact their safety and well-being.
