Snoop Dogg Reveals How Chamillionaire Approached Him Into Investing In The Convoz App

Twitter

Though he may be better known in the music community for his hit “Ridin’,” Chamillionaire is making a killing in the technology industry nowadays. The Houston native presents his Convoz app at the 2018 Upfront Summit in Los Angeles, California, along with Snoop Dogg to help him showcase his product.

The Convoz app involves users downloading 15-second video clips from the application, allowing them to interact with celebrities and other people who share their interests.

According to Upfront Ventures, “Convoz is a mobile video application that connects people worldwide through collaborative face-to-face conversations.”

“When people say they can’t find African-American startups to invest in, that sounds a little crazy to me,” Chamillionaire told CNBC on investing in minority startups. “I feel like minority and women-founded startups have been historically underappreciated, so I’m honored that legends like E40 & Daymond John would be willing to help bring more awareness to this problem. Capital and information are things that our community needs more of, so we try to do what we can to spark some change”.

Speaking of Snoop Dogg, he was on Clubhouse on Wednesday evening in the Behind The Vest with Druski room. I asked him how his partnership with Convoz and Chamillionaire came about?

“Aw man, Chamillionaire got at me. First [of all], Chamillionaire is a bright mother**** by the way in that tech world in The Bay Area. He has been maneuvering and making s*** happen for years. So, he got at me when I started investing in little companies like Reddit, Triller, and all kinds of s***,” said Snoop Dogg.

“He was like n**** look I got some s*** called Convoz that I’m doing. So, I’m like n*** I’ll follow your lead. So, when someone comes at me with a great conversation like that and they in hip hop, they are sharp, and I do my research on them. But, I want to do business with this black man, so that’s what it is.”

Last September, Snoop Dogg announced that he is entering the Metaverse with Sandbox Game.

“I’m always on the lookout for new ways of connecting with fans and what we’ve created in The Sandbox is the future of virtual hangouts, NFT drops, and exclusive concerts,” Snoop Dogg said in a press release, according to Decrypt.
