The Los Angeles Lakers after this 124-115 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Christmas, it resulted in their 20th loss this season.

After the game, LeBron James talked about the challenges due to the current roster.

“We lose a lot of length which we dont have already. We have to make it up in ways that are very difficult and very challenging. … I think we had a lineup at one point where AR (Austin Reaves) was the tallest guy on the court.”

On Monday, a couple from Lakers’ great, former owner and President of Basketball Operations Magic Johnson shared with the public why he decided to resign.

“If you’re going to talk betrayal, it’s only with Rob. But, again, I had to look inside myself. I had been doing that for months. Because I didn’t like that Tim Harris was too involved in basketball. He’s supposed to run the Laker business, but he was trying to come over to our side. Jeanie’s gotta stop that. You gotta stop people from having those voices.”

In the Lakers documentary Legacy, Jeanie Buss shared that ultimately she made the decision to trade for Anthony Davis, and that means the bus no pun intended stops with her. It also means nothing get approved without her say so.

After watching that segment of the document, Lakers Nation has been calling for Buss to sell the team for the events that have taken placed after. They are also requesting that the front office explore trades to improve the team.

However, according to Jovan Buha of The Athletic, Rob Pelinka  and the rest of the front office don’t want to added to the mistakes they previous made.

Reinforcements via trade would obviously help, and the Lakers are still evaluating their options on a dormant trade market. At the same time, it becomes increasingly challenging to justify trading a first-round pick if the group continues to struggle. The front office doesn’t want to compound its previous mistakes with more win-now moves.

Which is probably why Jeanie Buss nixed the trade for Buddy Hield and Myles Turner before the start of the 2022-23 season with the Pacers, according to The Athletic.
