NBA Champion Matt Barnes, Sixers’ Cheerleader Jackie Murtha, & Couple At Mavs/Lakers Game Get Engaged Over Xmas Weekend [Watch]

A Philadelphia 76ers cheerleader had the surprise of a lifetime this weekend when her boyfriend proposed to her at the Sixers and Clippers game on Friday night.

The girl in question, Jackie Murtha, was genuinely shocked.

“This was truly the biggest surprise,” she wrote on her Instagram story Saturday morning. “Thank you to everyone who helped pull this off! I can’t believe this is real life.”

After the video went viral the comment sections featured trolls stating that Jackie was out of Chris Girard was out of her league.

Girard addressed the comment section with this messaged, “DEAR COMMENT SECTION, “I KNOW SHE’S OUT OF MY LEAGUE. I AM JUST HAPPY TO BE HERE.”

He also shared with the Bleacher Report’s comment section as well, “Thank god I’m funny” — and added a laughing emoji.

Chris and Jackie were not the only couples that got engaged over the weekend. NBA Champion and former NBA vet Matt Barnes got engaged to his girlfriend Anansa Sims.

The couple made the announced via Instagram on Monday afternoon with the caption YESS!! With a ring emoji. A couple of Barnes’ colleagues such as Rachel Nichols and Stephen Jackson sent their congratulations.

“Congrats. Bout Dam Time 😂😂😂😂😂 love yall,” said Jackson.

Nichols added, “Woooooooooo ❤️👏”

Warriors fan and Bay Area legend E40 commented, “Congratulations to you both 🥂

Finally, on Sunday afternoon, during the Mavericks and Lakers Christmas game, was paused for another proposal. According to Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News, “All indications the answer was yes.”
