Despite the numerous line-up deficiencies that have plagued the Lakers 2021-22 season thus far, they sit at (.500) with a record of (19-19). Out of the 39 games played midway through the season, star icon LeBron James has only played in 26 games due to an abdominal strain that sidelined the 4-time MVP for two weeks early this season. However, he has most certainly been a man on a mission since returning!

He is averaging 29 PPG, 7.5 REB 6.6 AST on the season. In his last eight games, the king has risen to the occasion & beyond by providing the majority of the scoring load and putting up just shy of 35 (PPG) at the rightful age of 37. The Lakers could use a significant break from its supporting cast (role players) in Hollywood with Anthony Davis expected out due to injury either before or after the All-Star break.

The offense is very much available, L.A Lakers are 8th in the league averaging 111.0 PPG regardless of the 18 different starting line-ups in 39 games. Talk about chemistry!!!! However, key players like Carmelo Anthony & Malik Monk have picked up some scoring slack when needed.

The lack of defensive effort, turnovers, and inconsistency, not to mention injuries. This is totally out of our control, has left fans uncertain about the near future. Head Coach Frank Vogel recently reunited with the team. After being out due to Covid Health & Safety Protocol, he has received much of the backlash for the panic in Lakerland with his unorthodox line-up changes. Known for being a defensive-minded coach, the Lakers struggle to stay afloat and are 27th in the league on defensive ratings. According to SBNation, a recent addition, Stanley Johnson has always dreamed of being a Laker. He has shown signs that he could provide the defensive help the team desperately needs in the frontcourt and a spark of energy.

Fans inside the Los Angeles Lakers Fan Club on Clubhouse have praised the 1st round 8th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft after only three games played. He would play an enormous contribution at the point guard position with ball control and defense, with Russell Westbrook having 25 turnovers in four games and his teammates combining for 30.
