Jalen Brunson Hints at SVU Cameo After Knicks Finals MVP Run

The New York Knicks just finished off their magical playoff run, winning their first NBA Championship in 53 years.

After going 16-3 in the playoffs, the Knicks beat the Atlanta Hawks in the first round in six games, the Cleveland Cavaliers in four games, and the San Antonio Spurs in five games.

Jalen Brunson was named Finals MVP after dropping 45 points in Saturday night's closeout game.

"Words can't describe it," Brunson said. "But I'll say: I put a lot of time and effort into trying to be the best player I can be to try and help a team win. Just really thankful to have the organization, the coaching staff, my teammates, to have my back every single day."

Brunson left it all out on the floor in game five to bring home a championship, and if you ask him what he left out there:

"Everything," he said with a laugh. "I was just trying to go out there and just will us to win. Wasn't focused on anything else besides trying to win the game. Getting stops. Getting out and running. Just figuring out how to cut that lead, or to gain it when we got it. Really exciting moment, knowing we won't give up." "I love (Patrick Ewing), and I hope he doesn't kill me … he's bigger than me, but we're both old and slow, but Jalen Brunson is HIM when it comes to New York basketball," head coach Mike Brown said. "He is freaking HIM."

Actor and former professional boxer Don Wallace, during a recent interview with LandonBuford.com, was asked where he should be ranked if there were to close things out in Game 5:

"He's gotta be either one or two," said Wallace.

Meanwhile, recording artist JAG took it a step further by stating that Brunson needs to walk around New York with a crown.

"He needs to walk around with a crown."

Jalen Brunson Hints That He Wants to Get on NBC's SVU

After the New York Knicks left the floor in San Antonio following their game five victory in the Alamo City, Brunson was asked what's next for him; normally, the MVP says going to Disneyland. However, that was not the case with Jalen Brunson; instead, he hinted that he is trying to make an appearance on NBC's hit show Law & Order: SVU, which was featured in the NBA's Instagram post.

"Try to get on, try to go to 'SVU,'" said Brunson.

Following the New York Knicks winning their third NBA Championship in franchise history, the star and executive producer of Law & Order: SVU, Mariska Hargitay, took to Instagramto celebrate the Knicks' historic win by posting a throwback photo of Jalen Brunson with the message that reads, "You found a way," and the caption message reads, "And you lead the way for so many. Congratulations to you all and deepest thanks. #NBAFINALS CAPTAIN @jalenbrunson1 @nyknicks CHAMPIONS #BELIEVE."

Mariska Hargitay Was Recently Asked to Choose Which Castmates to Swap for Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns

Hargitay was in attendance at the Tribeca Film Festival, promoting her Spotlight Documentary, , which is a film by Mariska Hargitay. She was interviewed by Nick Hamilton of Nitecast Media and asked whether Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns would join the SVU squad, and which two team members she would cut to make room.

"Who would I kick off for Jalen? Probably anyone. No, there's no one — they're all additive. But I guarantee you that if Jalen was coming on, nobody would leave. I think it would be the more the merrier. Kat is the Man, Towns, all of them,"said Hargitay.

Jalen Brunson, Like Many of Us, Grew Up Watching SVU

"You just hear the iconic [theme song] 'dun-dun' all the time in the house," he shared in an episode of The Roommates Show podcast, which he co-hosts with teammate Josh Hart. "My dad also watches the TV incredibly loud, so you hear it throughout the house." "[I] always found myself watching the show and honestly, the older I got, the more I watched. The more I see now I'm like, 'I've seen that episode,' I've seen so many different episodes," he added, further explaining that SVU is "a pregame show for me. I've always loved that show."

When asked what it was like meeting Mariska Hargitay for the first time on his podcast Roommates Show featuring Knicks fanatic Ben Stiller on the episode, Brunson said he had "never been like super super like starstruck — super starstruck. I saw [Mariska], I was like 'Oh shit.' The first time we met, it was awesome. We talked and everything."

Mariska Hargitay was later asked how their friendship started, which she revealed on Late Night With Seth Meyers:

"I was so flattered and thrilled, because I was such a huge fan," she explained. "I think Jalen sort of grew up on SVU...I think he felt this, as many people do, intimacy and safety that one does growing up on SVU."
