EX-Bates College Football Coach Malik Hall Files Discrimination Lawsuit Against Institution, Per Report

Bates College

Earlier this month, former Bates College football coach Malik Hall filed a discrimination lawsuit against the institution, according to Leela Stockley of the Bangor Daily News. The institution hired Hall in 2018, making him the school’s first Black head coach.

According to Hall, he faced racial discrimination during his tenure at Bates College. As a result, per Stockley, Malik Hall filed his lawsuit in the U.S. District Court, Says The Bates Student. Hall is also joined in this lawsuit by Ayesha and his three children.

Hall claims that he and his family were mistreated by his former employer and that he is now suffering from mental health issues. It also caused him “economic damages, loss of opportunity, loss of reputation and mental anguish.”

The home that the school provided Hall and his family was infested with harmful black mold, and the substitute was a smaller unit unsuited to the size of his family.
