Jared Bond takes a “Wild Guess” with soulful new single

Jared Bond is back, and this time he’s bottled his sound. Recorded in the close, personal quarters of Jesse Kates’ attic studio in Kansas City, MO, his new single “Wild Guess” ushers in a bold step forward and breaks away from walls. Jared’s poignant lyrics and soaring voice take precedence here, delighting and inspiring audiences in equal measure.
Around Jared’s introspective storytelling, a group of guest musicians adds depth without overshadowing the song. Mark Hamblin’s supple upright bass carries a warm-hearted pulse, and Rachel Jaggard’s otherworldly vocals lend an airier counterpoint that amplifies the song’s emotional core. Working with Jesse Kates and now this band of masters, we all share an intimate and exploratory sound that is vast like exploring space.
Jared, who first played the track “Wild Guess” at The Ship in Kansas City, got such a rousing shout of approval from the audience that he knew he was onto something. Jared’s songwriting, inspired by literary heavyweights from Bob Dylan to Conor Oberst, Father John Misty, and Jim James, carries a weight matched only by its subtlety.
With “Wild Guess,” Jared Bond is now showing he’s unafraid to take chances, revealing a more vulnerable side to his music that will stay with us. This single is more than just a new chapter in his story, and Jared is here, he’s unapologetic, and ready to blow you off at every given opportunity.
