Jeffrey Scornavacca has always known how to write songs that feel like they’re meant just for the listener. His newest song, “Hello Sun!” featuring Christen Cooper, keeps that tradition going with a bright touch. The song is part of his heartfelt project, “MOC Mixtape”. It captures the spirit of Musicians On Call by using music to bring comfort, positivity, and connection between people.
“Hello Sun!” starts out like a soft sunrise, and Christen Cooper’s voice adds a shimmering layer of warmth that goes perfectly with Scornavacca’s inviting tone. It’s the kind of song that makes you feel good and close to someone, like a smile that makes you feel better. Every note has an easygoing sense of hope in it, which is in line with the mission of Musicians On Call: to bring live music to hospital patients’ bedsides to give them moments of joy and relief when they need it most.
The reason for this release is what makes it so important. Scornavacca made “MOC Mixtape” to honour the work of Musicians On Call, and all the money from the album goes straight to their cause. “Hello Sun!” was carefully chosen to sound like the energy you might hear at a real Musicians On Call shift: bright, positive, and uplifting.
In a time when music can seem far away or impersonal, “Hello Sun!” reminds us of how it can heal and bring people together. It’s a song that wants you to feel and remember how a kind note or a friendly face can change your life in a big way. Scornavacca and Cooper do a great job of making the song a heartfelt message of hope that comes at the right time for people who need light in unexpected places.
