The Recording Academy has announced that comedian Trevor Noah will return as host of the 67th Annual Grammy Awards in 2025. This is Noah’s fifth year in charge of the prestigious music awards ceremony.
Trevor Noah’s Legacy as Grammy Host
Trevor Noah, known for his sharp wit and charisma, first hosted the Grammys in 2021 and has since become an essential part of the event. Known for his breakout role as the host of Comedy Central’s The Daily Show, Noah has earned two Emmy Awards and is regarded as one of the most skilled emcees in the industry. In a previous interview with Gayle King on CBS Mornings, Noah discussed the challenges and exhilaration of hosting a live show.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen,” he said, highlighting the improvisational nature of the Grammys. “That’s what I love about the Grammys—it’s live; it’s happening; it’s on the fly.”
The 2025 Grammys Amid Wildfire Devastation
Despite the recent devastating wildfires that have ravaged large parts of Los Angeles, the ceremony scheduled for Sunday, February 2 will go on as planned. The blazes have caused the loss of homes for thousands of residents, including music community members. The Recording Academy has decided to make the event a platform for relief efforts. CBS emphasized its renewed mission to raise funds for wildfire relief and honor the bravery of first responders in a statement. “The 67th Annual GRAMMY Awards will carry a renewed sense of purpose: raising additional funds to support wildfire relief efforts and honoring the bravery and dedication of first responders who risk their lives to protect ours,” the network announced.
A Focus on Resilience and Relief
The Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. and Board of Trustees Chair Tammy Hurt provided a letter to members that highlighted the healing power of music.
“In challenging times, music has the power to heal, comfort, and unite like nothing else,” the letter stated. MusiCares and the Academy have partnered to raise $2 million in aid for those affected by the wildfires in the Academy’s relief campaign.
A Star-Studded Night of Music
An extensive lineup of top artists will be honored and showcased with performances at the 2025 Grammy Awards. Beyonce is the top nominee with 11, making her the most-nominated artist in Grammy history with 99 career nods. Fulwell 73, a British production company, will produce the event, and it will have Ben Winston, Raj Kapoor, and Jesse Collins as executive producers. Trevor Noah will be involved in the production of the show.
When and Where to Watch
On February 2, 2025, the Grammy Awards are scheduled to take place at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles. CBS will broadcast the event live at 8 p.m. ET / 5 p.m. PT will be available to stream on Paramount+ as well. The Grammys return with Trevor Noah in charge, and the event will not only celebrate the best in music but also display the resilience and unity of the Los Angeles community.
