Juicy J’s Eye Opening Comments About Wiz Khalifa

It has been six years since Juicy J released his hit album “Stay Trippy.” It made its debut on August 23, 2013, features hit singles like “Show Out,” “Bounce It,” “Talkin’ Bout,” and “Bandz a Make Her Dance” that went platinum. The album featured heavy hitters such as Justin Timberlake, Chris Brown, Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, The Weeknd, ASAP Rocky, Wale, Wiz Khalifa, Trey Songz, Young Jeezy, Big Sean, Pimp C, Trina, Yelawolf and Project Pat.
The producing team featured Danny Boy Styles, ID Labs, J-Bo, Lex Luger, Mike Will Made-It, Supa Dups, Timbaland, and Young Chop. Juicy J and Wiz Khalifa executively produced the project, as it was released under Kemosabe Records under the Sony Records umbrella in the U.S, and RCA outside of the states.
The video of Talkin’ Bout which features Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown was supposed to make an appearance but was in jail at the time. Legendary music video director Benny Boom directed it. The concept of the video was fast because the song is fast-paced, and it moves. According to Wiz Khalifa, they wanted to create a video that did the same thing.
The creation of the single was made on a whim, per Juicy J. He and Khalifa were sitting in the studio chilling, and Wiz called up Chris Brown. The trio was just going through beats, and then Wiz decided to hop in the booth and spit the hook.
“The song was produced by ID Labs came together in the studio one late night. It was just an idea that I had heard the beat and loved it. And the beauty of those type of things are when one thing gets created, and somebody else hears it, and it gets a life of its own, and that is what this became. Juicy took it and turned it into something crazy. Now, we are here shooting the video,” said Wiz.
During the behind the scenes video interview section, Juicy J shared that he thought Wiz was a genius.
“Man, Wiz is a genius, he don’t write nothing down. He just spits it, man. Freestyles everything, ” said Juicy J.
“It’s always fun working with Juicy because of his energy. We just always having fun, good times and it’s like a party in the studio,” Wiz said.
The album did pretty well in sells after it debuted four on the US Billboard 200 and then went on to sell 64,000 copies in the United States during the first week. It would later go on to sell 138,000 copies according to Nielsen SoundScan.
