Megan Thee stallion had bullet fragments in her feet after Tory Lanez allegedly shot her three times, prosecutors said his trial started Monday. Evidence, they added, that should once and for all silence the critics who have attacked Megan’s credibility.
Doctors removed three bullet fragments from Megan’s feet, prosecutors stated in the opening statements, confirming in the court record a detail she had already disclosed in interviews. The question is not whether Megan was shot, according to prosecutors, but who fired the gun. They spoke of testimony, including Megan herself, who is expected on Tuesday , and will show that the shooter was Lanez, who attacked her after she criticized his ‘music’
Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is facing charges, including assault with a semi-automatic firearm and carrying a loaded non-registered firearm in a vehicle. On December 5, prosecutors filed a third charge for discharging a firearm with gross negligence. With a conviction, he faces 22 years in prison. His plea was not guilty on all three counts.
According to prosecutors, Lanez and Megan got into an argument while riding in an SUV after leaving a party thrown by Kylie Jenner in the Hollywood Hills on July 12, 2020, prompting Megan to ask to be let out of the vehicle. The 27-year-old Hot Girl Summer Rapper shared with the police that Lanez shouted, “Dance, b****,” after she left the vehicle and would have fired at his feet several times.
Prosecutors said Lanez tested positive for GSR, the chemicals released when a gun is fired. They added three more people at the scene who tested positive, including Megan’s old friend, Kelsey Nicole, who was also in the car that night and said Lanez physically assaulted her.
Prosecutors said that other evidence will include text messages and telephone calls where Lanez apologized and blamed his behavior for being very drunk.
