J Prince, the legendary music executive and CEO of Rap-A-Lot Records, was the subject of intense rumors and speculation when reports surfaced that he had been picked up by the FBI. The news sent shockwaves through the hip-hop community, with many wondering what could have led to the federal agency’s interest in the influential mogul.
However, J Prince was quick to deny the rumors, taking to social media to set the record straight. In a series of tweets and Instagram posts, he declared that the reports were false and that he had not been arrested or detained by the FBI.
“Wack100 & his sources say J Prince has been arrested by Feds for threatening Offset & the remaining Migos are in protective custody.” It was a far-fetched story, especially because no one else reported on the findings. Akademiks quickly reposted, earning a reaction from Offset, who called the report false. Wack 100 also chimed in because he certainly wasn’t happy to see his name dragged through a fake scandal. He fired off a direct message to Ak.
“[Akademiks] thirst move,” the music manager wrote. “If you don’t have the content of me saying this don’t stamp it.. But I get it #clickBait is the New New Testament….. Dude ain’t nobody to hide from #Gtfoh @offsetyrn you have a good day today.” Prince also entered the chat, albeit without saying too much. He shared a video of himself enjoying gray skies in a lavish estate, and in the caption, wrote, “A lie ain’t nothin to tell.”
The rumors had apparently started when a group of FBI agents were spotted outside of J Prince’s Houston-based headquarters. However, J Prince explained that their presence was simply part of a routine investigation, and that he had nothing to do with the matter.
“They lying to Y’all,” J Prince said.
Despite J Prince’s denial, the rumors continued to swirl, with some suggesting that the FBI had simply not yet made their move. However, as the days and weeks passed without any further developments, it became increasingly clear that the reports had been unfounded.
In the end, J Prince was able to put the matter behind him and return his focus to his music career and business ventures. However, the incident served as a reminder of the power of rumors and the importance of setting the record straight when false information is being spread.
