The Seattle Mariners were in town earlier this week to take on their division reveals for a three-game series in Arlington Texas. The Mariners took the first of three games 4-3 but went on to lose the final two games losing 4-11 and 7-11 respectfully. Before the start of the third game, I had the opportunity to speak briefly with Mariners’ second baseman and two-time All-Star Dee Gordon about his interest in basketball.

Gordon Shared with me that he is a huge LeBron James fan after I asked him his thoughts on King James opening his I Promised School in his hometown of Akron Ohio.  I would immediately follow that question up with how did he think LeBron would do with the Los Angeles Lakers this year.

“I am probably one of the biggest LeBron’s fans, and I am nervous for him. I don’t trust Lonzo Ball, Kyle Kuzma or none of them. I’m going, to be honest, but thank god they have Rondo and a tough guy in Lance Stevenson. The only two people who are set in stone are LeBron and Rondo”- Gordon told me.

The Los Angeles Lakers are in the second season of the Magic and Rob Pelinka era, in which they are looking to improve on a 35-47 record this past season.  We will have to see how things turn out the Lakers open their 2018-2019 season on the road against the Portland Trailblazers on October 18th.
