Mark Cuban Gives Update On Dirk Nowitzki’s Statue After Practice On Wednesday

Dallas Mavericks Governor, Mark Cuban made himself available to Mavericks media after practice on Wednesday. During the scrum he gave an update on Dirk Nowitzki’s Statue.

The Dallas Mavericks paid tribute to Dirk Nowitzki last season when they retired the #41 jersey. It was an incredible and unforgettable night when the Mavericks paid homage to their GOAT, which was crowned with Dirk Nowitzki addressing his supporters with his usual intellect and humor.

Nowitzki is back with the only NBA organization that he called home as special advisor to Governor Mark Cuban. He has an office within the recently renovated office, and Dirk makes his own schedule. The legend was within reach in the playoffs as the Mavericks reached the conference finale for the fifth time in franchise history.

When Nowitzki announced that he would retire after his final home game in 2019, Mark Cuban said they would be building the enormous statue of Dirk outside of the American Airlines Center. Cuban would then unveil a rendering of Dirk’s statue to be made outside the American Airlines Center during his jersey retirement ceremony.

In a detailed discussion with Taylor Rooks from Bleacher Report, she spoke about Dirk annoying the boss about his statue. Cuban has been clear that it will be up this season, but there is no date yet on when the team will celebrate the statue of Nowitzki.
