Bryon Scott had the opportunity to coach Kobe Bryant during his final season and had a front-row seat for his 60-point game against the Utah Jazz on April 15, 2015. Scott also had the opportunity to mentor the late Kobe Bryant during his rookie season in 1996.
Scott recent spoke with Nick Hamilton of Nite Cast Media about potentially see Kobe’s greatness before the rest of the world.
“He was driven, he was single minded even at 18 years old. He had a real good idea of what he wanted accomplish in the NBA and did it right way, he put in the work, said Scott.
“So, to see everything that Kobe accomplish I’m not surprised because I was able to see his first year as a rookie his work ethic, dedication, determination, and passion for the game.”
Scott also touched on the LeBron James and Michael Jordan debate and people skipping over Kobe Bryant, and it irks him at times.
“At times, yeah, I mean most of the time when I hear that conversation, I always say don’t forget about KB. Don’t forget about that man. You got to put him in that conversation,” Scott added.
|”So, yeah I love the fact that there’s always going to be conversations, but Kobe in his era I think was the greatest player in his era.”
