The Philadelphia 76ers were eliminated from the playoffs after a 103-96 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. After the game, there was a lot of finger-pointing on Twitter and in the media at Ben Simmons.

However, instead of the three-time All-Star making excuses, he owned up to it.

“I ain’t shoot well from the line this series,” Simmons said.

“Offensively, I wasn’t there. I didn’t do enough for my teammates. … There’s a lot of things that I need to work on.”

According to ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, 33 percent from the free-throw line against the Hawks and 34 percent from the line this postseason.

“He shot 15-for-45 (33%) on foul shots against Atlanta and 34.2% from the line for the 2021 playoffs overall, accounting for the worst free throw percentage in NBA playoff history for a player with at least 70 attempts, according to research by ESPN Stats & Information.”

Despite Simmons struggles, Sixers head coach Doc Rivers still believes in his point guard.

“Obviously, he struggled from the free throw line, and that became a factor in this series. There’s no doubt about that,” Rivers said

“I still believe in him, but we have work to do. We’re going to have to get in the gym, put a lot of work in, and go forward.”

Unfortunately, Doc maybe the only one that still believes in Simmons because Philly community leader and entertainment influencer, Charlie Mack wants him gone.

“Ben Simmons gotta go. Ben Simmons gotta go to The Wizard Oz. You need some courage medicine Ben Simmons. You are afraid… You gotta go Ben Simmons,” said Mack.

Mack is a close friend of Sixers owner and Hollywood icon Will Smith.

Over the last four games, Simmons did not score in the fourth quarter. This season, Simmons averaged 14.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game.
