Arlington, Texas — It has been well documented that three-time WNBA Champion and former WNBA Sixth Woman of the Year Alysha Clark has a culinary background and is taking the necessary steps to pursue a career in the culinary arts.

Alysha Clark’s Passion for Cooking and Future as a Chef

In a 2020 interview with whatsupusana.com, Clark spoke about wanting to be a professional chef one day.

“I would love to be a professional chef. It’s something I might consider doing one day,” she says. “I’ve gotten to know several chef mentors here in Seattle, and they’ve allowed “Probably a lot—they’re already on me about it because I’ve been cooking. I’m like, ‘Dang, I’ve got to eat too.’ But I told them earlier, ‘Listen, if you want dinner, just let me know ahead of time so I can make enough.’ The other day, I only made enough for myself. But yeah, they’re already on me about it.”me to come into their restaurants to learn all the details of being a chef and managing the business. Food brings family and friends together for joyous times. So I’d love to share that joy and flavor with other people. Also, I just really like good food.”

She also shared with The Athletic in the past that she learned a lot from Tamara Murphy, the owner of Terra Plata on Capitol Hill in Seattle, Washington, after Storm CEO and Team President Alisha Valavanis introduced her in 2012.

Clark has been known to cook for current and former teammates as well.

“Whenever we’re together, you know she’s going to cook,” Shekinna Stricklen said. “Even when Alysha is in Connecticut, she’ll come over to my apartment, and we’ll go to the grocery store. (Former Indiana Fever forward Natalie) Achonwa was there the other night. People know she’s good — it’s definitely widespread information.”
Then teammate  Jewell Loyd shared, “She loves to cook, and we love to eat. “Alysha wants to be a chef. That’s going to be her second career. There’s always a waitlist to go eat at her apartment during the playoffs. She already has a fanbase — the whole league would show up.”

Joining PlayersTV with her New Show Off-Seasoning

In May of 2024, Alysha Clark, along with former Two WNBA All-Star turned ESPN Analyst Chiney Ogwumike, joined PlayersTV, the first-ever athlete-owned media network and content provider dedicated to lifestyle and culture, as investors.

“I’m so humbled to be joining PlayersTV as an athlete investor and partner. To have the opportunity, alongside Chiney, to keep challenging the notion that athletes are one dimensional is so exciting. Finally getting to bring my brand new show Off-Seasoning to life as the first female athlete on the platform with a cooking show is pretty special. To be quite frank, opportunities like this don’t come around often for players like me, so to know I am helping open the door for future generations while sharing stories on my show that are authentic and leave others feeling inspired is pretty freaking amazing,” said Alysha Clark.

Alysha Clark’s Off-Seasoning program features conversation, music, and delicious cuisine, with special guests welcomed into her kitchen. There is a wide range of individuals, including athletes, entertainers, and loved ones. Alysha creates a mix of culinary delights in a relaxed setting based on her diverse global playing experiences.

Her show offers a balanced mix of topics, ranging from family stories and cultural insights to sports discussions and the celebration of great food, in a relaxed atmosphere.

Collin Castellaw, Co-Founder of PlayersTV, shared, “We’re delighted with the addition of Chiney and Alysha, as our newest investors and partners. We’re committed to the elevation of women’s sports, and both of these ladies are incredibly talented both on and off the court.”

Clark Finds A Follow Foodie In New Dallas Wings teammate, Azzi Fudd

Last week, the Dallas Wings signed the three-time WNBA Champion after drafting number one pick Azzi Fudd out of the University of Connecticut in the 2026 WNBA draft.

“We are excited about the signing of Alysha Clark,” said Wings executive vice president and general manager Curt Miller. “Our goal during this offseason was adding additional veteran leadership to our locker room. AC is a respected veteran in this league and brings versatility to our roster. She is a three-time champion and a fierce competitor. She has many of the intangibles we were looking for.”

After Wings’ practice on Thursday morning, Clark was asked about where the rookie guard Fudd was getting comfortable on the court.

“Yeah, on the court, just watching her IQ—everyone knows she’s an amazing shooter—but I think something that’s underrated is her off-ball movement. She’s a fantastic cutter and really knows how to read the game. It’s been great watching her get comfortable in that space,” said Clark.

“And then off the court, she’s really cool. We’ve already started making plans—When you’re doing this, I want to come. Let’s go find these types of restaurants. I told her that when we travel on the road, I have a list of restaurants in every city that I like to go to. So she’s like, ‘Okay, bring me along.’ Having a fellow foodie on the team is definitely exciting.”

In a follow-up question from LandonBuford.com, Clark shared how much cooking she might be doing for the Wings this season once she gets settled in.

“Probably a lot—they’re already on me about it because I’ve been cooking. I’m like, ‘Dang, I’ve got to eat,” said Clark.

” But I told them earlier, ‘Listen, if you want dinner, just let me know ahead of time so I can make enough.’ The other day, I only made enough for myself. But yeah, they’re already on me about it.”
