Discovered in a pond near his home in Milton, Georgia. Nathan had been reported missing early Tuesday morning, February 3, leaving his residence by foot and without his phone under unusual circumstances.

Legacy Like Father Like Son
At 27 years old, Nathan was more than the heir to a musical legacy — he was a talented growing artist and an alumni at New York University, a blessed gifted music producer, DJ, and engineer. He had spent years honing and polishing his craft. Mimicking after his father’s footsteps but carving out his own career in the industry.
His father Lil Jon, who rose to global prominence as a progenitor of the crunk movement with hits like “Get Low,” “Turn Down for What,” countless collaborations throughout his career, expressed profound heartbreak in the wake of this loss.
In a statement shared with the public, Lil Jon and Nathan’s mother, Nicole Smith, described him as “the kindest human being you would ever meet” — thoughtful, warm-hearted, passionate, and deeply loving toward family and friends.
Thanking law enforcement and those who assisted in the search, while asking for privacy during this devastating time.

What Happened?
The circumstances surrounding Nathan’s disappearance — leaving his home early in the morning without his phone and appearing disoriented — have raised questions sparking public concern. However, at this time, there has been no official indication from authorities that mental health, substance abuse, or any other specific factors contributed to his death.
No definitive cause of death has been publicly released pending the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s investigation. Speculation surrounding his state of mind, personal struggles, or health challenges remains unconfirmed. Out of respect for the family due to the ongoing nature of the inquiries, it’s important to avoid drawing conclusions not supported by fact.
This loss lands against a backdrop of a life built around connection — to family, music, and community. Lil Jon’s rise from the neighborhoods of Atlanta to international stardom was never just about party anthems and chart-topping hits; it was a story rooted in collaboration and the power of shared experience. He solidified his reputation not only as a chart-topping artist and producer but as a mentor and presence in Southern hip-hop culture. His work with the East Side Boyz and later collaborations helped bring Southern hip-hop to the global stage, influencing generations of artists who followed.
Family First
For Nathan, growing up around that creative energy was both inspiration and foundation. Family was central to his life. Friends and loved ones echoed the sentiment that he was deeply connected to those around him! Describing him as someone who loved fiercely, lived with an open genuine heart. As family and fans continue to grieve, remembering Nathan not simply as an icon’s son, but as a bright, thoughtful young man with promise, creativity, and endless capacity for kindness. Lil Jon’s tribute to his son — emphasizing who he was as a person, as a son, and as a creator — reflects a truth that transcends music: the depth of love a parent holds for a child.
Untill We Meet Again
During life’s most unexpected moment, grief connects us all. The music industry and fans worldwide paused to honor a life that, though cut short, impacted many — and to support a grieving father and family whose legacy will forever carry imprints of love.
