Joff Lowson Trio takes witty songwriting to the next level with their cinematic and edgy new single, “All the Bananas.” At face value, it’s an enjoyable Bluegrass music, but dig deeper into the lyrics and you’ll hear a keen social commentary beneath the humor.
With the metaphor of monkeys gathering bananas, they paint a damning picture of today’s world, where life is crazily driven by greed and competition, always seeking out even more. The banjos shimmer, the rhythms bounce, and the harmonies set spirits airborne. The chemistry between the three plays out in every note as exuberant, exact, and perfectly in time with each other.
This track finds a sweet spot between humor and depth. It’s hard not to get caught up in the infectious Bluegrass groove, but the lyrics are served with a twist of clever irony.
