Detroit Pistons forward Isaiah Stewart is about to make waves off the court—not with his defense or rebounding, but with his music. Malik Beasley’s recent Instagram story post featuring a snippet of Stewart’s unreleased track has sparked fans’ eagerness to hear more. Stewart has confirmed that there will be new music soon.

Stewart shared his musical background and why he decided to share his work with the world in an exclusive interview with LandonBuford.com.

“It was just fun. I grew up around a lot of dancehall music,” Stewart said.

“My dad used to throw a lot of bashment parties, when I was younger and he’s a DJ. He called his set ‘Isaiah the Prophet.’ I’ve always had a love for reggae music, and it seems like you guys want me to put it out. So, I’ll probably release it within the next few weeks.”

Since Beasley’s post, fans have been buzzing about the snippet, leading to increased excitement around Stewart’s music. Stewart appears to be relishing the moment, confirming, “I’m definitely dropping that track—seems like people want to hear the rest of it, so I’ll put it out.”

A Passion Beyond Basketball

Stewart’s fondness for reggae is rooted in his upbringing. An appreciation for the genre was instilled in him at an early age by his father, who was well-known for DJing at bashment events. Stewart’s influence has become a creative outlet beyond basketball as he enters the music industry. The trend of NBA players exploring music careers is nothing new. Even though Damian Lillard (aka Dame D.O.L.A.), Marvin Bagley, Miles Bridges, and Lonzo Ball have tried their hand at rap, Stewart’s reggae influence sets him apart. The timing of his debut was perfect since dancehall and Afrobeat sounds are becoming more popular.

What’s Next?

Stewart’s personality is further enhanced by his passion for music, even though he is signed up for the upcoming NBA season with the Pistons. Isaiah Stewart is ready to make an impact, whether on the court or in the studio, as fans await his official release in the coming weeks. Keep an eye on the full-track release, as Stewart intends to bring his unique reggae vibes to the basketball and music communities alike.
