In a bold move to redefine the personal tech landscape, Humane AI, founded by former Apple designers Imran Chaudhri and Bethany Bongiorno, has launched the Humane AI Pin.

An innovative wearable device that has the potential to make smartphones obsolete. The AI Pin, which is priced at $499, is made to offer essential mobile functions through voice control and laser-based display technology, which is a major change from the traditional screen-based user experience.

The AI Pin, which is worn on the lapel, enables users to make calls, send texts, and search for information through simple voice commands. This device, unlike other smartphones, only activates when engaged, resulting in an on-demand tool that aims to minimize digital distractions. Displaying information is done directly on the user’s palm with a laser projection from the AI Pin, creating a unique and intimate method of interaction without relying on a screen.

Humane AI’s revolutionary device has drawn significant backing from major investors, including Microsoft, Tiger Global, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, and Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff. Humane’s vision for a technology approach that is more human-centered and less intrusive, while still being just as capable as current smartphones, has been bolstered by this support from the industry. With over $200 million in funding raised, the startup is well-positioned to deliver on its ambitious mission to reinvent personal technology.
